Cory writes in with some questions and some feedback:

Why do most of the photos on this blog have captions & tags that read ‘Date Unknown’ or ‘Photographer Unknown’?  Will you do a better job moving forward of attributing photographers or dates with the images?  Perhaps if you didn’t just snag images [off] the web, you might be on to something, but I can’t feel like you are purposefully presenting the images with the care you claim.

As the blog-keeper / author / curator of this blog, and as a photographer myself, it is a goal of mine to be able to credit photographers with their works.  When I can, I do.  I do attribute names when I can because I want to.

The funny thing about photos of UFOs themselves is their tendency to appear anonymously for whatever reason.  My guess is that attributing a name to an image would allow further speculation and investigation of the photographer.  Most of the images, whether they be in a book or on a website, are often anonymously submitted to begin with.   This leads to a real sourcing dilemma, and the truth is most of the books and websites out there have about the same usage rights I do with this site, which is none.  Though, the community at large is not making much money off this sort of thing.

Another thing to consider is this: the internet is this weird place where images and information is going every which way.  Some of these images have changed hands many times.  I’m not the first, nor the last to upload these images.
